Our Trust is consulting on our Admissions Policy for the schools in our Trust from September 2025 onwards. The consultation is in connection with the Admissions Arrangements from September 2025 for Victorious Academes Trust Schools including Aldwyn Primary, Buckton Vale Primary, Discovery Academy, Gamesley Primary, Greenside Primary, Holden Clough Primary, Inspire Academy, Lyndhurst Community Primary, Poplar Street Primary, Wild Bank Primary and Yew Tree Primary School.
From September 2025 we plan to change the planned admission number for Gamesley Primary School from 45 pupils admitted to reception annually to 30 pupils and we plan to change the operation of waiting lists for all schools. Our schools will operate waiting lists until the end of the academic year for any year group. This will be maintained by the local authority and it will be open to any parent to ask for their child’s name to be placed on the waiting list. Any child that is unsuccessful at their first assessment can request a second chance in the assessment process, within an agreed time limit.
The planned admission numbers for all other schools (except Gamesley Primary School) will remain the same. Should circumstances arise where the planned admission number for Gamesley Primary School is no longer sufficient to cope with the local need, we will discuss this with Derbyshire County Council to ensure that places are available.
The consultation period begins on 30th November 2023 and ends on 31 January 2024 (9 weeks). Trustees will then consider the outcome and if approved, the arrangements would be introduced for September 2025 entry onwards.
