School Uniform

We are very proud of our school and our pupils. In line with our school uniform policy, we expect all pupils to wear the correct Aldwyn school uniform. This way, not only will our children look their best, but they will also be safe and equal amongst their peers.

Uniform fosters a sense of belonging to a school community. As outlined in the DfE guidance, it contributes to the ethos of a school and sets an appropriate tone. It instils pride and supports positive behaviour. Uniform also protects children from social pressures to dress in a particular way.

Our school uniform consists of:

  • Jumper/cardigan – navy blue with our school badge
  • Trousers/skirt/shorts or pinafore dress – dark grey
  • Polo shirt – white with or without our school badge
  • Shoes – sensible flat black school shoes (no trainers)
  • Summer dress – light blue and white gingham check

PE Kit

  • Plain white T-shirt with or without the school badge
  • Plain black shorts
  • Black pumps or trainers

Jewellery

Health and Safety regulations insist that earrings are removed for swimming and PE lessons, and your child should remove them personally. Children should not wear jewellery at school, although a watch is allowed. If your child has pierced ears then ONLY studs should be worn – no hoops please.

Coats/Wellies

As Britain has very changeable weather, please ensure your child has a coat (or a raincoat in summer) for play times, as we try to play out in all weather. We only let children out in snowy weather if they have wellies or snow boots.

Please ensure that all items of clothing and footwear are marked clearly with your child’s name. Some items, such as jumpers, cardigans and polo shirts are able to have pupil initials embroidered on them by the clothing supplier.
